Vigna San Lorenzo

At Vigna San Lorenzo the vineyards are 450m above sea level, in the foothills of the Dolomites, so Marta and Alberto call their wine ‘Mountain Prosecco’. In morainic limestone soils, they cultivate many of the traditional local varieties for their prosecco, rather than a monoculture of glera. The entire estate is a haven of biodiversity, with woods, olive trees and orchards surrounding the vineyards. Secondary fermentation takes place in bottle and the wine is released without disgorgement; a style known as prosecco col fondo. Supremely mineral, citrusy and saline, Col Tamaríe changes subtly from vintage to vintage – a true reflection of its terroir.
