Montevertine

In the late 1970s Sergio Manetti made history by refusing to add trebbiano to his Chianti blend. In doing so, he turned his back on the Chianti Classico appellation. Today, Le Pergole Torte, one of Chianti’s most iconic and traditional wines, is still bottled as Rosso di Toscana.

Montevertine

From several south- or south-eastern-facing plots on albarese limestone and galestro (clay-schist) soils, Montevertine combines richly textural fruit and ripe, supple tannins, always balanced by freshness and nuance from the high elevation plots. Classic Chianti Classico in all but name.

Le Pergole Torte

Le Pergole Torte was first planted by Sergio Manetti in the late 60s, and for the next few decades was released as a single vineyard bottling. Since 1990 it has been a selection of the estate's best parcels of sangiovese.

Often in need of long-term ageing to appreciate its charms, Le Pergole Torte stuns vintage after vintage. Complex, nuanced and sublime, this might just be the ultimate expression of sangiovese.

Montevertine

Nestled in the hills of Radda in Chianti lies one of the greatest microclimates of Tuscany. Recognising the importance of the sangiovese grape, in the late 1970s Sergio Manetti made history by refusing to add trebbiano to his blend and turned his back on the Chianti Classico appellation. Today, Le Pergole Torte, one of Chianti’s most iconic and traditional wines, is still bottled as Rosso di Toscana.
