Lagravera

Lagravera was created when the Arno family decided to do something unprecedented. Restoring an old gravel quarry in the Costers del Segre DO, they planted it with vines, to return rather than remove something from the earth.

‘Ónra’ Blanc

An unusual blend of grenache blanc, chenin blanc and sauvignon blanc, ‘Ónra’ is refined in texture, with wafts of honey, hay, stone fruit and white flowers. A great example of the interesting wines coming out of this dynamic DO.

‘Ónra’ Vi Dolç

The large swings in temperature between day and night in this region of Catalunya are perfect for making sweet wines that retain acidity and freshness. This wine is made from grenache blanc grapes fermented to about 15% alcohol leaving roughly 100g/l of residual sugar. Afterwards, the wine is aged in a solera of French barrels for two years. The result is an extraordinary wine that is not overly rich, combining apricot, marmalade and honeysuckle notes with hints of beeswax and almond.

Lagravera

Lagravera was created when the Arno family decided to do something unprecedented. Restoring an old gravel quarry in the Costers del Segre DO, they planted it with vines, to return rather than remove something from the earth. In addition, they have purchased old vine parcels to bring the total to over 11 hectares. Some of these plots contain vines over 120 years old, some of the oldest in the region. Working with traditional varieties grenache and grenache blanc, as well as chenin blanc and sauvignon blanc, they craft wines with a distinct minerality that recalls their gravelly origins.
