montedelcuca2013

Garganega 'Monte del Cuca'

Orange wine with maceration ranging between twenty-five and forty-five days on the skins and aged in Slavonian wooden barrels. It is distinguished by hints of ripe fruit, notes of honey and a slight spice that accompany a more intense and fuller palate, without missing the mineral, tannic notes and good acidity. Monte del Cuca is a wine that can satisfy any palate. Excellent with different types of white and boiled meats, extremely suitable as a combination with fatty fish such as eels, salmon or cod and absolutely to be tried with medium-aged cheeses.

albina-vino-passito-2019-bio-menti-giovanni-31

Bianco Passito 'Albina'

Sweet wine from grapes harvested between the end of August and the beginning of September and left to dry for about 6 months inside an ancient 18th century tower that is well ventilated with the Vicenza system of the "picaio". After drying, the whole grapes are loaded into the press, pressed at a maximum force of 2 bars continuously for 8 hours. The must obtained (with a yield of about 30% by weight) is fermented with indigenous yeasts in concrete containers. At the end of the alcoholic fermentation, it is decanted into old French oak barriques, where the alcoholic fermentation ends and the malolactic one also takes place.

The result is an amber-colored wine with a dense, pleasant and balanced mouth that recalls intense and complex aromas and flavors of jam, ripe peach, toasted almonds, honey, aromatic plants and candied fruit.

menti

Stefano Menti runs this small estate of 7.5 hectares on the volcanic hills of Gambellara, farmed biodynamically since 2010. In 2012, Stefano decided to leave the DOC and declassify his wines, as he felt the regulations left no space for small producers like him who wanted to find their own expression of garganega. Spontaneous fermentation and long lees ageing results in complex and deeply mineral wines.
