Langhe Nebbiolo

In 2013, after much diligent work in the vineyards, Giovanni decided to produce a Langhe Rosso from the least interesting sectors in Paigaillo and Grinzane Cavour. 80% comes from Grinzane but this will likely decrease as the vines mature and Giovanni gets a firmer grasp of the land. Around 2000 bottles are produced annually.

Destemming, for 30-40 days using only indigenous yeasts, vertical hand press, then into concrete and Slavonian oak for aging.

Giovanni Canonica

A true artisan, an anarchist, a partisan: many are the adjectives used to describe Giovanni Canonica, one of the unsung heroes of Piemonte. Since his first harvest in 1983 he has been crafting wines that he defines ‘simple’, but in its simplicity lies all the depth and complexity or traditional Barolos. Incredibly rare to find wines, and it’s an honour for us to be finally able to list them.
