Château Coupe-Roses

Coupe-Roses is very much a family affair, founded by Françoise Frissant and Pascal Le Calvez in 2007 and now joined by son Mathias and daughter Sarah. Covering about 40 hectares of syrah, grenache and carignan, the vineyards are organic certified, and the elevation provides elegance and freshness in these classically styled wines.

bastide

Minervois 'Bastide'

A youthful and fresh style, bursting with bramble and spice aromas. On the palate, a little spiciness from the carignan emerges as a counterpoint to the generous fruitiness of the grenache. Framed by elegant tannins and well-balanced acidity, Bastide is a delight vintage after vintage.

les plots

Minervois 'Les Plots'

Blackberry, pepper and warm spice greet you the minute you put your nose in the glass, immediately transporting you to the garrigue-covered limestone and schist slopes of the Languedoc. Beautifully fleshy with the characteristic tang of syrah, Les Plots spends one year in tank before bottling, so it marries youthful fruit and a silky-soft texture without any oak influence. Graceful and utterly gorgeous.

Château Coupe-Roses

The vineyards of Coupe-Roses glint white in the Occitan sunshine from the decomposed limestone that dominates the soil. On this rocky plateau - at about 300m elevation, one of the highest in the AOP – only garrigue, olives and vines can thrive. Coupe-Roses is very much a family affair, founded by Françoise and Pascal Le Calvez in 2007 and now joined by son Mathias and daughter Sarah. Covering about 40 hectares of syrah, grenache and carignan, the vineyards are organic certified, and the elevation provides elegance and freshness in these classically styled wines.

The name of the estate is derived from the high manganese content in the clay, which gives the soil a reddish hue. Historically, Françoise’s family were tilers in the area, and their company were famed for the pink-red clay tiles they produced – Coupe-Roses.
